I am a freelance writer, editor and trainer focused on computing, government, climate and data journalism.

My clients include Socitm, a membership organisation for local public sector professionals, where I edit In Our View magazine. I have written for Computer Weekly since 2014, including on Ukraine’s IT industry, how addictive social media techniques are used in business software and ways in which journalists (such as at the Financial Times), illustrators and composers are making smart use of generative artificial intelligence. I have also written for The Register since 2013, including recently news coverage on government IT.

I am an associate lecturer at Oxford Brookes University, provide training through the NUJ and am the chief examiner for data journalism for the NCTJ.
